Irodur E 462 is a solvent-based aromatic polyisocyanate cross-linking agent designed for use with hydroxyl-functional polyurethane and polymer systems. It is supplied as a solution in ethyl acetate and is used to promote chemical crosslinking and improve the performance of formulated coatings, adhesives, and related polymer systems.
Irodur E 462 reacts with hydroxyl-functional polymers to form crosslinked polyurethane structures, helping improve film strength, adhesion, durability, chemical resistance, and overall coating performance. It can be used in two-component polyurethane formulations where controlled crosslinking is required.
The product has also been identified in industrial applications as a cross-linker/fixing agent and has been used with hydroxyl-terminated polyester polyurethane systems.
